| LP 12” ( BLACK ) 180gr. VINYL 33rpm
My fave indonesian darlings voodoo∼foo —Yogyakarta natives— remarkably succeed in embodying the auditory flavors of javanese music by exploring and devouring the practices of so∼called experimental western music, pushing the boundaries of both traditions. The 10 compositions, explosions, sensations, emotions of this debut full∼lengh ALBUM strike by the perfect balance between their «avant∼garde» influences and their cultural heritage ; creating THE true contemporary indonesian music, sick ?
With this recording, SENYAWA lays bare the genius of trans∼nationality as free space ; No boundaries, no location, no name, but just the sheer rapture and the simple ability to find a place deep beyond anything we thought we had seen before —Hmmm you follow…?—. Yes, Rully Shabara { also acting within ZOO } & Wukir Suryadi transcend the limits of sound : The imagination, the sacred, the profane, sanity, madness, life, death (…) and bring us back to «home» where we should be in reality : Resolutely «here», absolutely «now» !
